Is PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana open to all?
The scheme is open to all Indian households owning residential rooftops, subject to feasibility and DISCOM approval. Tenants generally cannot apply unless they have a long-term lease and owner consent.
Does the subsidy apply to commercial rooftops?
No. PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana CFA is specifically for residential rooftops (up to 3 kW for full subsidy).
What is net metering?
Net metering exports excess solar generation back to the grid; your bill is calculated on the net units consumed from the grid. All PM Surya Ghar systems must be net-metered.
